Community engagement is very much at the heart of bringing our communities together. Lar is committed to creating an environment across all its developments, where every resident is made to feel part of their community; a place where they can be actively involved in decisions which matter to them and their neighbours.
Our Community Engagement Team
Lar’s Community Engagement team work with and support our residents to be part of that process. Our Community Engagement strategy is designed to encourage our residents to have regular, open discussions with staff on a range of matters; from anything such as their views on security perimeter fencing, to the development of our green spaces, to installing bike stores. And much more. The team are here to help our tenants be actively involved in the planning and decisions which impact on them and their neighbours on these, and other similar projects.
Why do we do it?
Our Community Development strategy is designed to ensure our residents get the best living experience they can from being a resident of Lar. Being an active member of the community brings many benefits. A place where people can be part of a collective which can influence decisions and provides a platform for our residents, neighbours and community partners to work in a collaborative and harmonious way. Lar listens to the views and ideas of our residents which help shape the ongoing developments of all our sites, and influence our future plans. Our Community Engagement workers hold regular consultation events with our residents, encouraging them to be part of their communities, in any way they can, large or small, and without obligation.
Lar recognises the importance of keeping its residents, neighbours and the wider community informed of developments around our sites. Our Community Engagement staff attend Community Council meetings and networking events to discuss Lar’s plans for current and existing developments. They are always delighted to meet with any individual, community group or interested parties to talk about who we are and what we do.
Lar is investing in providing purpose built community spaces across a number of its sites which local people and projects can access. These modern, flexible and accessible places are ideal for gatherings of residents and our neighbours, which are available to be used by local groups seeking a safe and friendly space for meetings, and also community-based events and commercial activities.
Lar’s ethos is to make our houses and our tenant’s homes the best they can be, and being part of a harmonious and engaging community provides an added layer of satisfaction for our residents. Our Community Engagement team are delighted to share their knowledge, skills and ideas with Lar residents and the broader community, to explore ways of making our neighbourhoods enjoyable and safe places to live.
